RASD to begin superintendent search

May 13, 2014

RIDGWAY – The Ridgway Area School Board of Directors approved the resignation of district superintendent Dr. Michael O'Brien on Tuesday evening. It was moved by Dave Parsons and and seconded by Kathy Lampman that the board accept the resignation of O'Brien, effective Aug. 8, with regret. The motion was carried unanimously, aside from Gloria Almquist-Shull and Cindy Allegretto who were not present at the meeting.
Following the acceptance of the resignation, the district announced a schedule for their superintendent search which, according to district finance manager Brent Rhoads, is "tentative."
A brochure and application concerning the position will be sent out "immediately," and applications are to be returned to the consultant by June 6 and returned to the district by June 13.
