RIDGWAY - At Tuesday's meeting of the Elk County Solid Waste Authority, Recycling/Solid Waste Coordinator Bekki Titchner said a revised lease agreement was received from North Central for the entire warehouse building used for storage and additional square footage in the Elk County Community Recycling Center at their space in the Stackpole Complex in St. Marys.
Titchner said rent will increase to nearly $800 a month because due to a recent expansion; the center itself now occupies 4,000 square feet and the warehouse used to store materials is 3,800 square feet. This does not include the area housing the electronics recycling center. The price of rent per square foot for the recycling center will be $1 and the warehouse will be $1.40 per square foot, slightly higher.
"The reason it's more [for the warehouse] is because the insurance has to be a little bit more because we're storing all of those flammable materials there," Titchner said.
