Republicans host annual gathering

JOHNSONBURG – The Elk County Republican Party hosted their annual summer gathering on Wednesday evening at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall.
Numerous guest speakers were on hand including state Rep. Matt Gabler (R-Elk/Clearfield), Matt Blackburn, western Pa. director for U.S. Senator Pat Toomey, Joyce Haas, vice-chairperson of the Republican Party of Pa., and Brent Pasquinelli of Congressman Glenn 'GT' Thompson's office.
Also in attendance was Mike Scott, central regional director for the Republican Party of Pa.
Elk County Republican Party Chairman Dr. Maurus Sorg emceed the event introducing each speaker and offering welcoming and closing remarks along with recognition of veterans.
"We in the state count on Elk County to bring in that vote," Haas said.
