Richard H. “Dick” Kugler

Richard H. “Dick” Kugler, 71, of Tannery Drive, Penfield, died suddenly, Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 29, 1939 in St. Marys, son of the late Marinus and Sue (Dubanski) Kugler.
In 1976, he married Gladys Levanduski of Penfield, who survives.
He lived in St. Marys until he came to Penfield in 1976. He was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1958. He served in the U.S. Army and Reserves from 1958–1966 in “B” Battery, 4th Howitzer Battalion, 92nd Artillery Division. He worked for Stackpole Carbon of St. Marys for 17 years and retired from FCI of Clearfield in 2002 after 22 years as a First Class Tool and Die Maker.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, Penfield Firemen’s, Bennetts Valley American Legion, Camp Owners of St. Marys, the Buckhorn Camp and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepson, Raymond “Butch” Goldinger and his wife Sandy of Penfield, two grandchildren; two brothers,         Marinus “Bud” Kugler and his wife Alice of Kersey and James Kugler of St. Marys; a sister, Mrs. John (Helen) DaCanal of St. Marys; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard H. “Dick” Kugler will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, with Father Thomas Tyler as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail.
Visitation will be held at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 from 9–10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
