Richard L. Carrara

Richard L. Carrara, 76, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 9, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born in Coal Hollow on March 31, 1936, a son of the late Joseph and Inez Contrini Carrara.
Residing in Fairview, Richard owned Carrara Steel & Carrara Steel Erectors, Amthor Steel, Serafini’s Restaurant, the Inn at Presque Isle and Sparkling Ponds Winery. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Church.
He is survived by his wife, Tami Nicholson Carrara of Fairview; six sons, Kim Carrara and his wife Suzanne of Erie, Terry Carrara and his wife Paula of Erie, Kevin Carrara of Flint, Mich., Kris Carrara and his wife Tammy of Charlotte, N.C., Patrick Carrara and his wife Tara of Erie, and Giovanni Carrara at home; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Diane Smith and her husband Wallace of St. Marys.
Friends of Richard L. Carrara may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd., Erie, on Friday from 2-9 p.m. and may attend the funeral Mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 West 6th St., Erie, on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. John Detisch officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
