Richard A. Wortman Sr.

Richard A. Wortman Sr. 77, of 1069 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, died on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 unexpectedly at his residence.
He was born Sept. 17, 1935 in St. Marys, son of the late Andrew and Lorina Benninger Wortman.
On Jan. 31, 1959 in St. Marys, he married Joan D. Caskey, who preceded him in death on Sept. 29, 2000.
Mr. Wortman was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. He was a retired employee of the Airco Corp. and Windfall Products. He had also owned his own cleaning business, Wortman Cleaning Services.
Mr. Wortman was a member of the St. Mary's Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Cindy Lanzel (Mark) of St. Marys, Maureen Schneider of St. Marys and Sherrie Sanford of Big Rapids, Mich.; two sons, Richard A. Wortman Jr. (Sue) of Kersey and Andrew A. Wortman (Terri) of St. Marys; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He is also survived by three sisters, Rose Rippy of St. Marys, Josephine Oxley of Roseburg, Ore., and Ruth Burganza of Punxsutawney; and by a brother, William Wortman (Marge) of St. Marys.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Delores Kolinski, Albertta Sporner, Regina Klink, Margaret Jacob and in infancy Rose Wortman and Theresa Wortman; and by five brothers, Charles Wortman, Howard Wortman, Leonard Wortman and in infancy Charles and Paul Wortman.
Family and friends of Richard A. Wortman Sr. are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary's Church on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at noon, with the Rev. Thomas More, OSB, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
