Ridgway School District names new superintendent

RIDGWAY – At Tuesday's school board meeting, the Ridgway Area School District announced the decision to hire Robert Rocco as its new superintendent, as well as the approval of a contract between the district and the teachers association.
Rocco will replace Dr. Lester Shull as superintendent of the Ridgway Area School District. Shull served as the superintendent for seven days, after he was selected to fill the position in an Aug. 5 workshop session for the school board.
The board unanimously approved a motion to make Rocco the superintendent effective Aug. 12. The contract was approved at an annual salary of $110,000 for Rocco, and details of the contract will be approved at a later date.
