Rita P. Resch

Rita P. Resch, 90, of 150 Queens Rd., St. Marys, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 23, 1920, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Lawrence and Matilda Geyer Pistner. On Jan. 20, 1951, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Bernard J. Resch, who preceded her in death in 1976.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1938. She was a retired employee of the Stackpole Corp., retiring in 1983 after over 40 years of service. She was a member of the Queen of the World Church and for many years was a volunteer at the Re-Sale Shop and at Pinecrest Manor with the Christmas Workshop Elves.
She is survived by nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Marie Eckert, Clara Geitner, Dorothy Krieg, Ruth Pistner and Dolores Burden; and by two brothers, Albert Pistner and James Pistner. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Due to renovations at Queen of the World Church, a Mass of Christian Burial for Rita P. Resch will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, Nov. 12 at noon with the Rev. Michael Ferrick officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
