Robert C. Beck Sr.

Robert C. Beck Sr., 71, of M. Pleasant Road, Penfield, died on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 13, 1942 in Gardner Hill, Weedville, son of the late John and Pauline (Thurston) Beck.
His loving wife of 51 years, Linda L. (Swartz) Beck survives.
He was raised in St. Marys and has lived in Penfield since 1962. He attended Gardner Hill Church, and loved hunting, fishing, and his camp on Gardner Hill.
He was employed by Stackpole Carbon Co., P&N Coal, Sky Haven Coal, and Tamberline Coal until his retirement. He was also a self-employed logger.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Robert C. (Bonnie) Beck Jr. of DuBois, Mark A. (Staci) Beck of Penfield, Jonathan G. (Kristen) Beck of Gardner Hill, and Dwight D. (Christine) Beck of Penfield; two grandsons, Nathan A. Beck of Penfield and Chad A. (Heather) Beck of DuBois; a step-granddaughter, Amy L. Long of Murrysville; two step-great-grandchildren, Reilly Long and Jacob Long of Murrysville; and a sister, Carol A. Beck of St. Marys.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant sisters.
Funeral services for Robert C. Beck Sr. will be held at 11 a.m. today, Monday, Dec. 23 at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, with the Reverend David Miller officiating.
Interment will be in Gardner Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield prior to the funeral from 10-11 a.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Hahne Cancer Center.
