Robert J. Grieggs

Robert J. Grieggs, 77, of Albuquerque, N.M., died at home on March 24, 2012.
He was born Jan. 12, 1935 in St. Marys, son of the late Thomas J. and Anna C. Francis Grieggs. On March 15, 1957, he married Betty (Hall) Grieggs, who survives.
He served in the U.S. Army and worked for many years at Stackpole Carbon Co. before moving to Los Alamos, N.M. in 1967, where he worked at the Los Alamos National Lab until his retirement in 1993. As a side job, he worked in refrigeration repair for many years. He was also an avid hunter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Diane (Mrs. Steve) Justus of Branson, Mo. and Debbie (Mrs. Brad) White of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Tony (Alison) Grieggs of Los Alamos, N.M., and Steven Grieggs of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sisters, Rose Grieggs of St. Marys, Joan (Mrs. David) Berkson of Chicago, Ill., and Ruth (Mrs. David) Burkett of Punxsutawney; four brothers, Paul (Inez) Grieggs of Ridgway, William (Joan Marie) Grieggs of LaPlace, La., David (Peggy) Grieggs of St. Marys, and Joseph (Rose) Grieggs of Harrisburg. Also surviving are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Fitzgerald of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, James Grieggs of St. Marys and Thomas Grieggs of Orchard Park, N.Y.; and one sister, Mary (Grieggs) Dixon of St. Marys.
A Memorial Mass for Robert J. Grieggs will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in St. Marys on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11 a.m.
