Robert J. "Limpy" Redmond Sr.

Robert J. "Limpy" Redmond Sr., 78, of Dill Hill Road, Johnsonburg, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center following a short illness.
He was born March 12, 1932 in Johnsonburg, son of Stanley and Mildred (Tarnowski) Redmond Sr.
On June 26, 1951, he married Sara (Gapinski) Redmond and she preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 2001.
He lived in Johnsonburg all his life and worked most of his life with Redmond Bros. Ready Mix Company of Ridgway, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Johnsonburg Senior Center. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by three children, Linda Baker of Chicago, Ill., Robert Redmond Jr. of Ridgway, and Timothy Redmond of Johnsonburg; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Stanley Redmond Jr. of Johnsonburg and James Redmond of Ohio.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Redmond, and a sister, Rita Myers.
Private funeral services for Robert J. "Limpy" Redmond Sr. will be held at the family's convenience.
There will be no visitation.
The family suggests memorials to the Johnsonburg Ambulance or Johnsonburg Library.
