Robert N. Connelly

Robert N. Connelly, 85, of 817 Birch Rd., St. Marys, died on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born November 25, 1926 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Herbert and Leila Barton Connelly.
On June 14, 1952 in Jamestown, N.Y., he married Delores Hearburg Connelly, who survives.
Mr. Connelly was a resident of St. Marys since 1956 and was Protestant by faith.  He graduated from Jamestown High School, class of 1944, and was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed as a field engineer for more than 34 years with Unisys, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed golfing, traveling and trips to Salamanca. He was an avid reader and frequented the St. Marys Public Library.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 
In addition to his wife of more than 60 years, Delores Hearburg Connelly, he is survived by two daughters, Brenda, Mrs. Edward "Buddy" Cunningham of St. Marys and RoAnn, Mrs. Robert "Hoss" Cunningham of St. Marys; a son, Douglas Connelly and his wife Jill of Smithsburg, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette Anderson of Jamestown, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon, Roger and Richard Connelly and two sisters Phyllis Freeman and Alice Bowers.
At the request of Robert N. Connelly, no services will be held.
