Roger J. Klaiber Sr.

Roger J. Klaiber Sr., 73, of 24 Old State Rd., Kane, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at UPMC Hamot.
Born April 12, 1939, in St. Marys, he was a son of the late Howard and Helen Simbeck Klaiber. On Jan. 8, 1966, in Kane, he married Sandra Jones, who survives.
A 1957 graduate of Kane High School, Roger worked at Stackpole for 15 years and later for the Pa. Department of Transportation, from which he retired in 2001 after 30 years of service.
Mr. Klaiber was a lifetime member of the BPOE #329 and enjoyed bowling, hunting, horseshoes and NASCAR.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Sandra Klaiber, are two sons, Roger Klaiber Jr. and Todd (Denice) Klaiber, both of Kane; three granddaughters, Heidi Klaiber, Elisabeth Klaiber and Grace Klaiber; two grandsons, Nathan Klaiber and Steven Klaiber; a brother, Joseph Klaiber of Kane; two sisters, Helen Adams and M. Cathy Golden, both of York; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were two brothers, Robert Klaiber and Francis Klaiber.
Friends of Roger J. Klaiber Sr. will be received  from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Milton Jones, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
