Rose P. Johnson

Rose P. Johnson, 100, formerly of Weedville and Norwalk, CA and most recently of Elk Towers in St. Marys, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born on June 20, 1911 in Slippery Rock, daughter of the late Bernardino and Demonica Martini Palumbo.
Mrs. Johnson had been employed by Sylvania Radio Tube Plant in Emporium, the Prudential Insurance Co. and retired from Boeing Co.
She did active volunteer work at Norwalk Senior Center and received many awards. Mrs. Johnson also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Force before moving to California and lived there for many years and returned to this area to retire in 2009.
She is survived by a nephew and niece, Dominic and Rose Oreka of Kersey, several nieces and nephews and numerous close friends in St. Marys and California.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Joseph, Michael, Frank, Pasquale, Anthony Palumbo and by one sister, Mary Oreka.
Funeral services for Rose P. Johnson will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Tyler, pastor of St. Joseph's Church, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Force.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m.
