School board approves array of items

March 14, 2014

The St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors addressed several items during their recent meeting ranging from addressing road construction along state Route 255, cafeteria prices, changes in health care benefits and a grant award.
In regard to ongoing construction along SR 255, the South St. Marys Street Elementary School entrance, exit and yard will be excavated to replace the water line and again to replace the sewer line. The contractor will have the entrance/exit open for arrival and dismissal with work occurring from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If an emergency would arise a plate would be placed over the trench to allow traffic. Mark Romain, Aramark's SMASD facilities manager, has contact phone numbers in the event of a special need such as a field trip to inform road crews in advance.
