School board approves field trips, bus stops

November 10, 2010

The St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors approved items ranging from student activities to bus stops during their Monday evening meeting.
Among the approved field trips were those to a DECA State Officer CDC Planning Meeting in Hershey taking place Dec. 1-3. DECA advisor Michelle Jackson will accompany one student on the trip. The Spanish students’ trip to Peru in the summer of 2011 was approved, as was the St. Marys Area High School’s annual AP Economics class trip to New York City on March 10-11. Approximately 41 students are participating in the trip.
SMAHS clubs, club advisers and officers for the 2010-11 school year were approved, in addition to a transfer of funds in the amount of $387.69 from the Auxiliary High School to the Student Council Club.
Approval was given on two new Muccio Transportation bus drivers, Patrick Geitner and Frank Herzing; and for Charlene Warmbrodt as a driver for William Michelini.
