School board approves myriad of items

Members of the St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors approved numerous items during their recent meeting.
Superintendent Ann Kearney noted information on food service surveys for parents will be sent home this week. The survey is posted on the school district's website.
Significant progress has been made on the South St. Marys Street Elementary playground with the equipment being installed on Sunday and Monday. Numerous volunteers worked on the first phase of the project. Members of the SSMSE Parents Teacher Organization were also on hand offering donuts and coffee while school board members prepared a lunch for the volunteers.
Two students were approved for expulsion, each for up to one school year.
