Seal coating bids tabled due to high costs

May 14, 2014

Fox Township Supervisors recently tabled bids for seal coating due to estimates being above the township allotted project budget.
The township estimated the project cost at $55,485 in hopes bids would be well under that price.
Project bidders were Jefferson Paving at $57,926, New Enterprise Stone and Lime at $57,704, Hager Paving at $60,811 and Midland Asphalt at $55,396.
The supervisors then reviewed paving bids with an anticipated budget of $92,595.
The winning bid was awarded to GO Hawbaker at $78,368. This rate is below the others due to the company not having to pay prevailing wage resulting in a huge savings.
