Shirley E. Amacher

Shirley E. Amacher, 87, of 224 Park Ave., Ridgway, died on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 9, 1925 in Brockway, a daughter of the late Clemens and Marie Weilacher Richards.
On May 30, 1952 in Brockway, she married the late Clayton Amacher, who preceded her in death in 1979.
Mrs. Amacher was a lifelong resident of the area and an active member of Ridgway Church of the Nazarene, where she also served as a custodian for many years.  She enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Amacher of Ridgway, Ruth, Mrs. Daryle Byers of Karns City, and Marsha, Mrs. Doug Gaffey of Ridgway; two sons, Richard Amacher of Ridgway and David Amacher of New Castle; seven grandchildren; and a brother, William Richards of Ridgway.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John, in infancy; and a brother, Walter Richards. 
Funeral services for Shirley E. Amacher will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home, 136 Center St., Ridgway, today, Monday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Joe Miller of Ridgway Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Ridgway.
Visitation will be at the Thomspon Funeral Home today from 10-11 a.m.
