Shirley H. Fitzgerald

Shirley H. Fitzgerald, 84, of 238 Parkview Rd, St. Marys, died Friday morning, Sept. 6, 2013, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 19, 1929 in Bradford, daughter of the late Kenneth and Mabell Iddings Hokanson. She was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1947 and had been a resident of St. Marys since 1951.
On November 24, 1949 in Bradford, she married William K. Fitzgerald, who survives.
Mrs. Fitzgerald attended the United Methodist Church and enjoyed working at the family business, the Village Peddler. She also enjoyed crafts, ceramics, and spending time with her family.
She is also survived by three sons: David Fitzgerald and his wife Margie of Kersey, John Fitzgerald and his wife Lisa of St. Marys, and Todd Fitzgerald of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Greg Fitzgerald, Trisha Fisk, Amy Young, Matthew Fitzgerald, Michael Fitzgerald, and Jennifer Molnar; one grandson, Jackson Fisk; two sisters, Jean Hadley of Latrobe and Ginger Siracuse and her husband Vincent of Middletown, N.Y.; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Fitzgerald of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Fitzgerald in 2012 and a sister, Donna Vernon.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends of Shirley H. Fitzgerald are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held in the United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Tim Hoover, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the McKean Memorial Park in Lafayette, Pa.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 403, St. Marys, Pa. 15857 or to the Community Nurses, Inc., Memorial Fund, 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, Pa. 15857.
