Silvio J. Martini

Silvio J. Martini, 88, of 1603 Bucktail Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Brandy Camp, son of the late John and Angeline Pettite Martini.
On Aug. 13, 1946, in the St. Joseph's Church in Force, he married Betty R. Cashmer, who preceded him in death on May 20, 2009.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Brandy Camp schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Corp., retiring in 1986 after 46 years of service.
He was a member of the Queen of the World Church, a former member of the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin J. Martini (Loretta) of St. Marys and Roger A. Martini (Barbara) of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Lisa Ehrensberger, Roger Martini Jr., Christopher Martini, and Vanessa Martini; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Edith Shadick (Ray) of Orange, Fla.; and four brothers, Mario Martini (Eleanor) of Kersey, Guido Martini (Anna Mae) of Kersey, John Martini (Marian) of Brockway, and George Martini of Rochester, N.Y.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Pichler; and by a brother, Joseph Martini.
Family and friends of Silvio J. Martini are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
