Singer with local ties chosen on 'The Voice'
Those who watched the television show "The Voice" on Monday evening may be familiar with Pip, the clean-cut young man wearing the suspenders and bow tie who wowed all four of the judges with his rendition of "House of the Rising Sun."What many may not know is that Phillip "Pip" Arnold is the son of St. Marys native Jim Arnold and has numerous ties to the area. Not only was Jim Arnold a biology teacher for three years in the mid-1970s and an employee at Keystone for 25 years, but Pip's aunt, Laura (Arnold) Claypool, is also well-known in the community through her Mary Kay Cosmetics business. Pip's grandparents, Norb and Grace Arnold, also still reside in St. Marys. Other relatives include Karen Scull and Bill Arnold. The up-and-coming singer has been to the area numerous times throughout his life to visit family.
