SMASD approves personnel items

At Monday's meeting of the St. Marys Area Board of School Directors, the board approved a number of new personnel items on the agenda.
All employment recommendations are provisional for 30 days pending receipt of Act 151 and Act 34 clearance documentation.
The following support personnel resignations were accepted:
Cassandra Klaiber, of St. Marys, as LPN/Secretary, effective Aug. 12, 2012; Dawn McGrath, of Kersey, as personal care aide, effective July 24, 2012; Lynn Hoffman, of St. Marys, as classroom aide, effective Aug. 14, 2012; Tabatha Pomeroy, of DuBois, as Title I Tutor, effective Aug. 6, 2012; Terri Supon, of St. Marys, as cafeteria worker, effective June 7, 2012; Benjamin Witherson, of Weedville, as Title I tutor, effective Aug. 3, 2012; Andrew Yost, of Force, as tutor, effective June 26, 2012.
The following professional resignations were accepted: Daniele Carnessali, of Johnsonburg, as reading specialist, effective June 25, 2012.
The following transfers of support personnel were approved:
Debra Gatto, of St. Marys, from breakfast cafeteria worker at SMAMS to lunch cafeteria worker at SMAMS.
Rachelle Wortman, of St. Marys, from part-time classroom aide at SMAMS to full-time classroom aide at SSMES.
The following professional personnel hires were approved: Cassandra Mosier, of Kersey, as Title I reading specialist for the district, effective Aug. 20, 2012; Andrew Yost, of Force, as elementary teacher at SSMES, effective Aug. 20, 2012.
The following support personnel hires were approved: Heidi Eschbach, of St. Marys, as health aide at district/Catholic schools at $16.50 per hour, two-and-a-half hours per week, effective Aug. 22, 2012; Rachel Haines, of St. Marys, as sign language interpreter, extended school year at $10 per hour, effective July 9, 2012; Margaret Herbstritt, of St. Marys, as personal care aide for the district at $12 per hour, effective Aug. 22, 2012; Carrie Klein, of Weedville, as secretary/LPN at BV elementary at $12 per hour, 10-month position, effective Aug. 14, 2012; Eleanor Krug, of St. Marys, as cafeteria worker at SSMES at $7.50 per hour, effective Aug. 22, 2012; Krista Miller, of St. Marys, as part-time health aide for district at $16.50 per hour, effective Aug. 22, 2012; Rachelle Wortman, of St. Marys as classroom aide, extended school year at SMAHS at $7.50 per hour, effective July 9, 2012; Kristine Kohrs, of Weedville, as classroom aide, extended school year at SMAHS at $7.50 per hour, effective July 9, 2012.
