SMASD projects completed, gym renovation delayed

This summer proved busy for maintenance staff at St. Marys Area School District. There were several large capital projects which were completed including renovations to South St. Marys Street Elementary's gymnasium.
"The Kelly Gym project was going well until Friday," according to Mark Romain, SMASD director of facilities.
The project hit a roadblock when Romain was informed the new windows have not shipped and will not arrive until Labor Day. Crews were expecting the windows to arrive by Aug. 11.
"The new windows have left other parts of the project in limbo," Romain said.
