SMASD reviews students' assessment results

September 11, 2012

The St. Marys Area Board of Directors discussed the assessment exam results for last school year, areas needing improvement and those in which the district is at or above target.
SMASD Superintendent Ann Kearney began with enrollment in the district, which she said is the "first thing you want to know about when you start a school year."
Although kindergarten enrollment is up in the district, overall enrollment is down to its lowest numbers since the 2003-2004 school year, decreasing from 2,541 to 2,235 this year.
