SMASD's Kearney to retire at end of contract

February 7, 2014

Ann Kearney

St. Marys Area School District Superintendent Ann Kearney announced her plans to retire at the conclusion of her current contract ending on June 30, 2014. Kearney divulged the information during Thursday evening's SMASD Board of Directors workshop.
The board offered Kearney an extension on her contract to serve another year as superintendent, a gesture which she said she was "honored" by.
"After much deliberation and prayer, I have come to the decision that it is time for a new chapter in my life," Kearney stated in a letter addressed to the board.
