Son pleads guilty to arson after fire at father's home

A 25-year-old St. Marys man charged with setting fire to his father's and stepmother's home was in Elk County Court Monday, where he entered a plea of guilty to crimes of arson. Steven Ray Hulings, 25, of St. Marys, was escorted by law enforcement from the adjoining Elk County Prison, where he has been held in lieu of $5,000 bail since Oct. 3, to the main courtroom of the Elk County Courthouse, where he entered a plea of guilty to a single charge of arson and related offenses, a felony of the first degree, arising from a July 14 arson at 137 Lynch Rd. in St. Marys.
