Sophia E. "Betty" Kuntz

Sophia E. "Betty" Kuntz, 90, of 584 Church St., St. Marys, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Newhaven Court in Greensburg.
She was born Aug. 23, 1923 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Nicholas and Irene Wilhelm Fritz. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1941. She was a former employee of the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. in St. Marys.
On July 3, 1948, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married John E. Kuntz and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2008.
Mrs. Kuntz was a member of the St. Mary's Church, former member of the Bells of St. Marys, enjoyed dancing and was a clogger and she enjoyed hiking.
She is survived by two sons, David J. Kuntz of St. Marys, and Timothy J. Kuntz and his wife Marybeth of Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Gregory Dinio, Kathleen Dinio, Nicholas Dinio, Ryan Kuntz, Brendan Kuntz, John Connor Kuntz, and Audrie Marie Kuntz; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron Kuntz, Elijah Kuntz, and Joshua Kuntz.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Dinio and Justina Kuntz; a grandson, Christopher Dinio; three sisters, Mary Louise Benninger, Ruth Wittman and Irma Farrell; and by two brothers, Ralph Fritz and Richard Fritz. She was the last member of her immediate family.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sophia E. "Betty" Kuntz will be celebrated in the St. Mary's Church on Monday, March 24 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday evening, March 23, from 6-8 p.m.
