The St. Marys Area boys and girls cross country squads both picked up wins over Brookville on Tuesday afternoon in a meet at the St. Marys Area High School.
The boys won 18-43 while the girls won 18-45.
In the boys' race, St. Marys Area's Alec Foster finished in first place with a time of 17:57. He was followed across the line by his teammate Dylan Shields in 18:21. Brookville's Shane Hummel was third in 18:34, while St. Marys runners Austin Frey and Nate McFadden were fourth and fifth with times of 19:02 and 19:27, respectively.
Also for the Dutchmen, K.O. finished in sixth in 20:03, Mitchell O'Vell was eighth in 20:51, Nic Bush was ninth in 21:34, and Jordan Agosti was 11th in 24:56.
In the girls' race, St. Marys Area's Adair Gennocro set a new course record, crossing the line in first place in a time of 18:30. She was followed by her teammate Sloan Foster in 21:08 and Brookville's Katie Zents in 21:50. St. Marys runners rounded out the top five, with Kaley Williams and Lexi Hanes crossing the line in 23:12 and 23:42, respectively.
Also for the Lady Dutch, Ashley Mertz was sixth in 26:31, Rachel Schreiber was seventh in 27:42, Casey Kline was eighth in 27:50 and Gina Schneider was 10th in 30:36.
"Thank you to my senior runners on senior night, Gideon Woelfel and Sloan Foster. You will be missed, but always remembered," said St. Marys Area coach Stan Foster.
The St. Marys Area boys and girls junior high teams also both recorded wins over Brookville on Tuesday afternoon.
In the boys' race, Brookville's Ryan Thrush crossed the line in first with a time of 11:50. St. Marys' runners rounded out the top five, with Angelo Geitner coming in second in 11:52, followed by Ryan Brennen in 13:12, Damon Krise 13:14, and Zeph Woelfel 13:29.
Also for the Dutchmen, Joe Guido came in sixth in 13:32, Garrett Struble was seventh in 13:33, Mitchell Schreiber was eighth in 13:34, Cameron Resch was 10th in 16:06, Zach Pollino was 11th in 16:19, Justin Beck was 12th in 17:19 and Jorden Adams was 13th in 17:27.
In the girls' race, the Lady Dutch swept the top five positions. Shelby Schreiber was first in a time of 13:47, followed by Brooke Lenox in 14:40, Dorian Tamburlin 15:42, Allie Wonderling 16:18, and Rachael Caretti 16:19.
