St. Marys cross country teams perform well at Forest Hills
SIDMAN – The St. Marys Area High School cross country teams competed in the Forest Kills 5k Invitational on Saturday in Sidman, with the girls' squad finishing seventh out of 18 and the boys placing 10th out of 21. "On a very wet day and muddy course, the cross country teams performed well in Sidman," said St. Marys Area coach Stan Foster. For the girls, Adair Gennocro was first overall with a time of 18:44. Her teammate Sloan Foster finished seventh in 20:34. Both Gennocro and Foster were medalists for the Lady Dutch. Rounding out the top seven for the Lady Dutch were Kaley Williams, who finished 50th in 23:02; Gina Schneider, who finished 70th in 23:45; Lexi Hanes, who finished 82nd in 25:00; Ashley Mertz, who finished 112th in 28:21; and Rachel Schreiber, who finished 116th in 29:03. For the boys, Alec Foster was the lone medalist for the Dutch, crossing the line in seventh place with a time of 17:26. Rounding out the top seven for the Dutchmen were Dylan Shields, who finished 27th in 18:21; K.O., who finished 56th in 19:07, Austin Frey, who finished 71st in 19:38; Nate McFadden, who finished 92nd in 20:17; Mitchell O'Vell, who finished 111th in 20:49; and Jordan Agosti, who finished 124th in 21:36. The St. Marys Area squads will return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they play host to Bradford and DuBois Central Catholic.
