St. Marys Legion rallies late for 11-1 win over Fox Township

July 8, 2014

"Don't swing!" Those words, yelled by St. Marys' Vincent Jacob as he stole home on the first pitch to Rudy Gleixner in the top of the sixth inning, broke open a tie ball game and started a 10-run rally by the Post 103 squad. The game was tied at 1-all headed into the sixth, and Jacob's run gave St. Marys their first lead. They never looked back, eventually coming away with an 11-1 victory. St. Marys hosts Ridgwway tonight in the opening round of the Elk County Legion Baseball League playoffs.
