Superintendent search stalled at workshop

June 5, 2014

Members of the St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors continued discussion on the next step to take on their search for a new superintendent during their Thursday evening workshop.
Board member Pat Rezmerski introduced a motion to list Josh Williams on the agenda for the board's Monday regular meeting to be hired as superintendent.
Business Manager Cindy Fingado stated Rezmerski's request was not possible because when electing a superintendent there are certain publication requirements in which a notice must be published five days in advance.
Board member Robert Sorg questioned the response stating Rezmerski brought up a legitimate point of order which the board should be allowed to second.
