Supervisors contemplate use of soccer fields

June 10, 2012

The Fox Township Supervisors approved numerous requests for use of township recreational facilities for such events as birthday and graduation parties, a family reunion and a fun walk and picnic at their recent meeting.
Among those was a request from the Elk County Catholic High School boys' soccer team to utilize the park's Angela Huey soccer field, as well as the SinterFire soccer fields, for the team's 2012 season.
The township's Recreation Board approved the request; however, Fox Twp. Supervisor Dave Mattiuz said he wanted to establish conditions for the school's use of the fields, as well as review information from the township secretary.
Supervisors approved permission for Kathy Dowie, township secretary, to continue selling Bicentennial merchandise from the township office, as well as conduct minimal business related to the event such as completing items which need to be addressed immediately during work hours, answering unexpected inquiries and providing clerical support for subcommittees.
During the meeting, the supervisors met in an executive session during which no action was taken.
Also approved at the meeting were township bills in the amount of $429,826.55.
