Tickets on sale today for Chamber Wing Fling

July 16, 2012

Beginning today at noon, tickets may be reserved for the 2012 St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Wing Fling taking place Friday, Aug. 17 in downtown St. Marys.
Now in its 11th year, the Wing Fling has become a popular event attracting upwards of 500 attendees. Crowds gather in the Market Street area from 6-9:30 p.m., where they sample some of the area's tastiest wings and enjoy entertainment by a local band.
"The 2012 St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Wing Fling looks to be the social event of the year for the local area," said Greg Stauffer, Wing Fling committee chairman.
The procedure for purchasing tickets remains the same as in years past, with a maximum of six tickets available per phone call. All orders from the general public are taken over the phone only, as no walk-in purchases are permitted.
Those seeking tickets must contact the Chamber office at 781-3804. Chamber staff remind patrons to continue calling throughout the day and not to be discouraged if they cannot get through immediately, as the office is limited to two phone lines. Tickets also often remain available the following day as well.
When placing ticket orders, callers need to include their name, phone numbers, number of tickets and T-shirt sizes for each ticket. Patrons have until the end of the business day on Friday, July 20 to pay for their tickets. If this deadline is missed, the tickets will be redistributed to those on a waiting list. Payments may be dropped off at or mailed to the Chamber office at 53 S. St. Marys St., St. Marys, PA 15857.
Approximately 550 tickets will be sold this year. Patrons will be contacted when T-shirts and tickets are available for pick-up.
The $20 ticket includes the price of a T-shirt in sizes small through XL, and $21 for size XXL and XXXL T-shirts.
This year's red T-shirts feature a new, modern logo and are printed by Dave's Pro Shop.
"This is the first time in 10 years we won't have a chicken as our main logo," noted Ashley O'Dell, chamber outreach coordinator.
Organizers emphasized all Wing Fling attendees must wear their T-shirts in order to be served wings.
