KERSEY – The timber industry was highlighted during Friday's Elk County Farm Bureau Legislative Tour, which was held at Northwood Resources, Inc.(NRI) in Kersey.
As part of the 18th annual tour, approximately 40 attendees gathered at NRI, situated off state Route 255 along Birch Valley Road.
Owner Michael Hoffman provided a tour and general information about the log yard and distribution center of cherry, red oak, hard maple and white oak logs. The company is a family-owned business founded in 2011. Hoffman has worked in the timber field for 30 years.
"It's unbelievable the amount of products that are made out of the logs that come from right here in Pennsylvania," Hoffman said.
