Updates announced for CDBG program

February 8, 2012

City Council approved the 2012 CDBG application, which included water/sewer/road improvements in the form of multi-year projects.
City of St. Marys Community Development Block Grant Coordinator Tina Gradizzi was in attendance during Monday evening's workshop, where she explained the scope of the project.
As part of the project, 2011 CDBG funding will be combined with 2012 funding.
Gradizzi emphasized the project will go forward once she receives a positive response from residents on the citywide income survey.
She added that a public hearing cannot be conducted until the city receives notice of the amount of their award from the state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). Officials announced Feb. 29 as the date the entitlements would be announced. This pushes back the application deadline to April or May.
