Veronica H. Schneider, 70, of 1245 Million Dollar Highway, Kersey, died early Friday morning, Dec. 17, 2010, at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born July 29, 1940 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Louis J. and Catherine E. Keller Hoffman.
On Sept. 1, 1962 in the St. Maryâ€™s Church, she married Theodore M. (Ted) Schneider, who survives.
Mrs. Schneider was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1958. She had worked for the Harrison Stackpole family for many years. She was a member of the St. Boniface Church, did volunteer work and enjoyed gardening, her trips to Salamanca and her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa Schneider Yebernetsky and her husband Carl of DuBois; two sons, Douglas M. Schneider and his wife Kary of Ridgway and Scott Schneider of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Kyle Yebernetsky and Katlyn Yebernetsky; two step-grandchildren, Dodie Mercer and Joshua Mercer; eight sisters, Margaret (Margie) Schatz of Kersey, Mary Ann Hauber of Willoughby, Ohio, Audrey Assalone and her husband Patsy of Kersey, Frances Green and her husband Darrel of Kersey, Jean Schreiber and her husband Donald of St. Marys, Esther Brown and her husband David of St. Marys, Rita Miller and her husband Thomas of Brockport, and Helen Christoff and her husband William of Brockway; three brothers, Melvin Hoffman of Kersey, Louis Hoffman Jr. and his wife Geraldine of Kersey, and Gerard Hoffman and his wife Odie of Kersey.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Dâ€™Amore.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Veronica H. Schneider will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Faluszczak, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
