Donna L. Nortum, 68, of 555 Water Street Extension in Johnsonburg died on the afternoon of Thursday, May 1, 2008 at her residence following a lengthy illness.


She was born December 17, 1939 in Portland Mills, the daughter of David L. Fink and Myrtle R. Works Sayers. She married Marshall A. Nortum on April 26, 1958 in the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Ridgway. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1988.

She resided in Johnsonburg since her marriage.

Mrs. Nortum was a 1957 graduate of Ridgway High School and a 1991 graduate of DuBois Business College. She was a member of Johnsonburg Methodist Church and was employed at Powdered Metal Products in St. Marys for 13 years, the Ridgway Hospital for 2.5 years, and sold Avon for 7 years.

She is survived by her mother, Myrtle R. Work Saywers of St. Marys; two daughters, Cindy, Mrs. Theodore “Ted” Duffee of Ridgway, and Marsha, Mrs. Dr. Michael Hoh of DuBois; two grandchildren, Kyle and Jessica Dickey; and one sister, Jane, Mrs. Lester Kulp of Allentown.

In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Louis Fink, and one sister, Paula Ford.

A private funeral service for the late Donna L. Nortum will be conducted at Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home on Saturday. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff  B. Little of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church.

Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home located at 401 Chestnut Street in Johnsonburg.

There will be no visitation.
