Betty Jane Clark, 83, formerly of 344 Ash Street, St. Marys died at the Alterra Clare Bridge Care Home in Export.
She was born June 13, 1924, in DuBois, daughter of the late James A. and Annie B. Taylor Young. She had resided in St. Marys since 1957 and was a graduate of DuBois High School, class of 1942. She retired from the Pure Carbon Company in 1991 after 35 years of service as secretary to Mr. David Quinn and Dr. Robert Paxton. She married Glenn R. Billingsley on January 29, 1942. Lt. Billingsley was the pilot of a B-24 bomber and was killed in action during WWII on December 3, 1944, when his plane was shot down over Bingen Germant during his 16th mission. On August 4, 1951, she married William D. Aaron and he preceded her in death. On May 29, 1981, she married John M. Clark and he preceded her in death on September 27, 2004. She is survived by a daughter, Jean Marie (Mrs. Jack) Boston of Port Orange, FL; three sons, David G. Aaron and his wife Nancy of Monroeville, Scott Aaron and his wife Ann of Oak Ridge, TN, and Michael Aaron and his wife Patty of St. Marys; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; four step daughters, Kathryn (Mrs. Herman) Litra of Greenville, SC, Janet (Mrs. Richard) VanHaelst of Seattle, WA, Virginia (Mrs. Michael) Roberts of St. Marys, and Mary Jane Clark of Bedford, MA; and three step sons, Terrace Clark and his wife Marie of Benton, AK, Patrick Clark and his wife Kate of Philadelphia, and Brian Clark and his wife Alice of State College. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche Young and Grace Johnson, and by six brothers, George, Oliver, Floyd, James, William, Charles, and Eugene Young. She was the last member of her immediate family. She was active in the Professional Secretaries Association during her career, was a member of the St. Agnes Episcopal Church, served on the church Vestry for several terms and served as the Church treasurer for 13 years. She also served two years as Secretary of the St. Marys Country Club Auxiliary. Funeral Services will be held in the St. Agnes Episcopal Church on Monday, May 5 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Mary Norton officiating. Interment will follow at the Morningside Cemetery in DuBois. Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the St. Agnes Episcopal Church at 209 N.
