Hugo “Smitty” Smith, 66, of 25 Linwood Street, Warren, Pa, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Elk Regional  Medical Center.


He was born June 17, 1941 in Wilcox, the son of the late Burton and Evelyn Magnuson Smith and was a 1960 graduate of the Wilcox High School. He was  presently a greeter a the Warren Wal-Mart and was previously employed as a sales rep for Zippo of Bradford, and also sold for Prudential Insurance, having once received the Million Dollar Sales Award. He had also owned a Tasty Freeze in Kane called Smitty’s Place for several years. He was a member of the Kane Elks Club and the Kane Moose Club.  He and his wife were members of the Warren Full Gospel Church.  He was also a delegate for AA and was an accomplished Eagle Scout. His favorite saying, and one that will be missed by many was “Welcome to Wal-Mart”. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Olson Smith, whom he married on November 9, 2002; a daughter Brenda Bellina and her husband Paul, of St. Marys; a sister Jana Komara and her husband Wayne, of Florida; four grandchildren, Taylor RaeAnne, and Matthew Paul Bellina, and Chadwick Emerson and Lydia Marie Hefright.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Hefright on February 5, 2005; and a sister, Gwendolyn Smith.

Friends may call at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Monday May 5,  from 6 " 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Loretta Knapp, pastor, Full Gospel Church , officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Alcoholic Anonymous or to Narcotics Anonymous.
