Hilary G. Krug, 82, of 1863 Bucktail Road, St. Marys, died Monday morning, May 5, 2008, at the Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.


He was born July 30, 1925, in St. Marys, son of the late Albert and Theresa Schwabenbauer Krug.

On June 29, 1949, in St. Mary’s Rectory he married Lillian McClintick Krug, who survives.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, graduated from Central High School in 1943, and then served in the Navy during WWII from 1943-1946. He worked at Quality Components for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He had also been previously employed at the Gas Company, Stackpole, and the A & P. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and his family was his life. He greatly enjoyed spending time at home and at camp and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a life member of the Moose.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda Mrs. Edwin Feronti of Johnsonburg; three sons, Kenneth Krug of St. Marys, Thomas Krug and his wife, Kathy of Brockway, and Mark Krug of St. Marys; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey, Aaron, Hope and Roger Wonderly, Angela Breltkrutz, Nicholas and Thomas Krug Jr., Cassandra and Katrina Krug; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Krug of St. Marys; and a niece, Mary Del Krug of Erie.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Krug; two sisters, Marjorie Krug and Mabel Newell, and a nephew William Krug Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Hilary Krug on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Church Street, with the Rev. Meinrad Lawson OSB as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

A Military Service will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael Street, on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Nurses Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA 15857.
