Mary J. Hill, 78, of 404 Richter Lane, Yorktown, VA, died Sunday evening, May 11, 2008, at Hampton Sentara Careplex in Hampton, VA, following a brief illness.


She was born in Johnsonburg, March 18, 1930, daughter of the late Roger and Teresina Dellaquila Imbrogno.

On July 4, 1950, in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, she married Eugene T. Hill, who preceded her in death on March 10, 1999.

She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1948, was a member of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Hampton, VA.

She is survived by four sons, David A. Hill and his wife, Debra of Dallas, TX, Daniel R. Hill and his wife, Susan of Williamsburg, VA, Lawrence J. Hill of Grafton, VA, John C. Hill of Hampton, VA; four daughters, Leslie Lowery of Williamsburg, VA, Jeanne, Mrs. Louis Case of Yorktown, VA, Lorraine, Mrs. Rudy Dinga of Smithfield, VA, and Lois, Mrs. Jamie Rodriguez of Hampton, VA; 17 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three brothers, Carl Imbrogno and his wife, Helen of Johnsonburg, John Imbrogno and Louis Imbrogno of Johnsonburg.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Peter and Michael Imbrogno and George in infancy, and by two sisters, both named Philomena in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Hill will be conducted at the Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
