The District 9 Class AAA and AA track and field championships are scheduled for this week.

The Class AAA meet, involving the St. Marys Area squads, is scheduled to take place Wednesday at the Kane Area High School. The Class AA meet, involving the Elk County Catholic teams, is scheduled for Friday at the Brookville Area High School.

The rain date for Class AAA is Thursday while the rain date for Class AA is Saturday.

Both meets will have the same start time of field events at 3 p.m. and track events at 4 p.m. Due to the larger number of  schools participating in the Class AA meet, the awards on Friday night are scheduled to be held at 9 p.m. while the Class AAA awards are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Admission to both meets will be $5 for adults and $2 for students.

All District 9 champions in both classes, plus qualifying times, will advance to their respective PIAA meet scheduled for May 23 and 24 at Shippensburg University.
