19th Green to kickoff summer concert series

    St. Marys punk rock band 19th Green will kick off the 2008 Elk County Summer Concert Series tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Fox Township Community Park in Kersey.

    The high energy group consists of band members Andy Glass on drums, Tod Wyatt on bass guitar and lead/backup vocals, Mark Lang on bass and vocals and Nicholas Malburg on guitar and lead/backup vocals.

    Formed in 2002, the band released their second recorded works in 2005. They describe themselves as “a young, high energy, fast, loud, annoying, awesome, crazy, in your face, punk rock band.”

    The group is known for their melodic vocals, drum beats, bass lines and high tempo guitar riffs.

     According to the band’s website the group is about “showing people how to have fun and let your worries outside the headphones and have a good time.”

    In addition the group enjoys performing in the local area and has made numerous appearances at the St. Marys Youth Center among other locations.

    Next on the Elk County Summer Concert Series schedule are The Moore Brothers, a country rock band, performing on Fri., June 13 on Market St. in downtown St. Marys and Rusty Gun Revival, an Americana style band, performing on Fri., June 20 in the Courthouse Gazebo in Ridgway.
