By Amy Cherry Daily Press Staff The modern/classic rock group One Last Breath is this year’s featured band for the annual St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Fireworks Celebration on Thursday.
From 6 to 8 p.m., the band will spark the fireworks celebration at the St. Marys Country Club. The band plans to perform between 20-25 songs of mainstream cover selections. Hailing from Elk County, band members include John Azzato of Weedville as lead vocalist, Mark Casaro of Ridgway on drums, Dave ‘Chet’ Kucenski of Ridgway as lead guitarist and Mark Santaniello of Brockway on bass. “We enjoy performing in the Summer Concert Series because its more for everyone. Most places we play are over 21, so younger people don’t get the opportunity to see us,” said Casaro. “We always want to expand our audience and these events are a great chance to do just that.” One Last Breath was founded five years ago by Azzato and Santaniello. The band’s musical influences include Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and Kansas. Among the group’s most requested songs are those recorded by AC/DC, Buck Cherry and Breaking Benjamin. The band performs on average three times per month in Elk and Clearfield Counties. Primarily as a cover band, the group performs a wide variety of songs from such artists as Finger 11, Hinder, Three Days Grace, Creed, 3 Doors Down, Alice in Chains, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Green Day, Saliva, Nirvana, Linkin Park, Puddle of Mud, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pearl Jam, Poison, Stone Temple Pilots, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Godsmack, Kiss, The Doors, Cheap Trick, Ugly Kid Joe, BTO, Matchbox 20, Billy Idol, The Black Crows, Collective Soul, Grand Funk Railroad, The Refreshments, Van Morrison, Jimmy Buffett, Bowling For Soup, The Commitments, John Cougar, Foo Fighters, Wild Cherry, Jet and Steppenwolf.
