Holiday Open House pays tribute to Sr. Augustine

    This year’s annual Holiday Open House at Trifles and Treasures Gift Shop at the St. Joseph’s Monastery will kick off the Christmas season on Sat., Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by honoring the late Sr. Augustine, O.S.B.

Gregory P. Bauer, ERHS President/CEO is pleased to announce the recent addition of Mary Lou Roos, RN, as the new CEO of ERHS subsidiary, Community Nurses, Inc.  Roos, who joined the Elk Regional team in June 2008, brings over 30 years of clinical and administrative experience to the Community Nurses, Inc. organization.

Roos received her nursing degree from Wilkes University School of Nursing. She practiced in acute care settings, such as critical care and the emergency department, for approximately 10 years. Since 1987, she has managed small and large PA Home Health companies prior to accepting senior executive positions with national home health companies.

Roos has been a home health expert consultant for eight years. Her responsibilities have included the start-up of home health agencies, as well as clinical, fiscal, regulatory and operational initiatives.

“Mary Lou is a welcome addition to Community Nurses, Inc. Her specific administrative and clinical skills, combined with her exceptional work experience, will enable her to quickly assess CNI’s assets, and develop an organizational mission and direction that will maximize on those assets to further expand and strengthen CNI’s position in our regional market place. Her ability to pull together CNI’s talented staff and work with them to ensure that the organization can meet the long-term home health care needs of the region will enable the organization to continue its quality services long into the future,” according to Bauer.

Roos adds “I am getting to know the wonderful staff of CNI and have been very impressed with the quality services they’ve been providing to the regional area. I look forward to being an integral part of CNI’s future, and am also enjoying the pace and the lovely community of St. Marys.”
