The Nicholas J. Sinibaldi Symphonic Band held its third annual holiday concert, Music for the Holidays, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 20 at the St. Marys Area High School Auditorium.

Over 50 area musicians from DuBois, Ridgway, Emporium, Weedville, Kersey, and St. Marys participated in the band, which was under the direction of Chris Gankosky. Participants also ranged in age from high school students to adults and many had participated in the band's previous concerts.

Admission was by donation only and over $800 was raised. All proceeds from the concert will be divided equally between Pinecrest Manor, Elk Haven Nursing Home, and Silver Creek Terrace.

Despite the frigid temperatures over 300 area residents ventured out to enjoy the performance.

Musical selections included Here We Come A-Wassailing, Greensleeves, and excerpts from A Charlie Brown Christmas, along with many other favorite holiday tunes.

"The band really enjoyed doing the concert and would like to continue to do it," said Anne Herzing, Sinibaldi's daughter. "If you didn't come then you missed a great concert."
