By Amy Cherry Daily Press Staff The following personnel actions have been approved by the St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors at their recent regular meeting.
All employment recommendations are provisional for 30 days pending receipt of Act 151 and Act 34 clearance documentation and pre-employment drug testing if applicable. Two professional substitute teachers were hired including Matthew Frank of Ridgway at St. Marys Area High School, effective Jan. 26, 2009. Frank holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Lock Haven University with certification in English grades 7-12. Also hired was Robenetta Daghir of St. Marys at St. Marys Area High School, effective Jan. 26. Daghir holds a master's degree in guidance from Clarion and Edinboro Universities with certification as an elementary/secondary counselor. Jessica Whitesell of Weedville submitted her resignation as a Title I tutor effective Feb. 27. Support personnel hired included Stacy Dent of St. Marys as a personal care aide at South St. Marys Street Elementary, effective Feb. 23 and Brandon Garvey of St. Marys as computer tech support at the high school, effective Feb. 17. Supplemental contracts were approved for Daniele Auman as a pool supervisor at a rate of $15 per hour and Mark Caskey as assistant track coach, at a rate of $1,200. Several professional substitute personnel were hired. Sharon Buchheit of St. Marys was hired at the middle and high schools, effective Feb. 4. Buchheit holds a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Barbara Ginther of Reynoldsville was hired at the middle school, high school and Fox Township Elementary, effective Feb. 23. Ginther holds a master's degree in human resources. Nicholas Pisarcik of DuBois was hired at South St. Marys Street Elementary, Fox, Bennetts Valley and the middle school, effective Feb. 4. Pisarcik holds a bachelor of science degree in education from Clarion University with certification in special education. Sheena Stefano of St. Marys was hired at all buildings, effective Feb. 5. Stefano holds a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Pamela Armanini, a current teacher at South St. Marys Street Elementary was hired as a homebound teacher effective Feb. 23.
