Gabler visits St. Boniface Elementary School

State Rep. Matt Gabler (R-Elk/Clearfield) visited students at St. Boniface Elementary School in Kersey during Catholic Schools Week.
As a catholic school alumni, having graduated from St. Catherine’s Elementary in DuBois and DuBois Central Catholic High School, Gabler spoke to the students about the benefits of a Catholic education. He pursued his studies at Bucknell University.
Students from first through fifth grades attended the gathering held in the school’s cafeteria.
Gabler posed several questions to students such as what they enjoy about their Catholic education and what they want to be when they grow up, in which students answers ranged from veterinarians, doctors, bakers and professional athletes.

C/G receives governor's safety award

C/G Electrodes announced yesterday that Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell, on behalf of the State’s Department of Labor & Industry, awarded C/G Electrodes with its Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence at a special luncheon at the annual Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Conference in Hershey on October 19.

The selection process for the Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence was an arduous one in which C/G was one of 75 companies to be considered for the award and selected as one of 15 semi-finalists.  After becoming a semi-finalist, the company was host to an on-site visit by officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, and ultimately, chosen as one of 10 companies to be named a winner.
