She was born on May 1, 1926 in Shawmut, daughter of the late Andrew and Melda Matthews Rendosh.

She was married for 53 years to Eugene “Gene” Ross. He died on May 4, 2000.

She was a member at St. Tobias in Brockway, St. Tobias Rosary Society, Brockway Progressive Womens Club and the Red Hats.

She served as Cub Pack Den Mother for St. Tobias Troup #39 for many years. She also taught religious education classed at St. Tobias. She enjoyed golfing, swimming, camping, traveling, and going to the racetrack. In later years she enjoyed going for car rides and viewing the elk.

She was a retired beautician. Along with her husband Gene, she was the co-owner of Gene’s Barber and Beauty in Brockway.

She is survived by one son, Dennis (Ruthie) Ross of St. Marys.

She was preceded in deathy by her parents, husband and a brother Harry Rendosh.

Visitation for Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Ross will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at the St. Tobias Church in Brockway at 9:30 a.m. Officiating will be Msgr. Charles Kaza. Burial will take place at St. Tobias Cemetery.
